My hometown YanTai is a beautiful place. It lies in the east of Shandong Province. It surrounded by green mountains. There is no hea一vy traffic in YanTai, and the air here is very fresh. So we can often breathe fresh air in YanTai.
In the past my hometown was poor, and people led a hard life. They couldn’t afford to send their children to school. But ,great changes ha一ve taken place in my hometown in the past twenty years. Many families .ha一ve not only color TV sets, but also telephones, fridges, computers, and so on. New roads, houses, schools, hospitals ha一ve been built. People in my hometown are working hard for a better life.
Besides, there is a special fruit-coconut. The juice of coconut is very sweet. We all love it. So YanTai has another name. It comes from coconut. It’s the city of coconut.
Summeron Mount YanTai is very cool. It can' be called a huge natural air-conditioner in summer; Winter here is nice, too. Hea一vy snow falls every year. There is a popular saying: "Mount YanTai in summer is green like a clear fountain, and in winter is white like a white jade."
At last, I want to tell you that YanTai is developing very quickly, people here are friendly. If you come here, they will welcome you with their delicious dishes. My hometown is beautiful place It stands near a wide river at the foot of low green hills. It has many tall buildings and wide streets. There are trees and flowers everywhere.
But it has not always been like that. In the old days, it was a sad dirty little town. Landlords and merchants lived in the few good houses. For the working people there were only dark, unhealthy rooms in old buildings and huts in narrow muddy streets. Nearly everyone was poor and many had no work.
Everything has changed since liberation. The people, led by the Party, ha一ve got rid of the mud and dirt. They ha一ve put up schools, theaters, shops and flats. They ha一ve an assembly hall and a hospital. Along the river they ha一ve built offices, hotels and parks. A lot of factories ha一ve sprung up. On the river, streamers and boats come and go busily, day and night. They carry the products of our industries to all parts of the country.
I love my hometown, and I love its people. They also ha一ve changed. Healthy and happy, they are going all out to build socialism.
